vm1 was started as a way to let you boot Linux VMs on demand, in any region around the world, to run trusted or untrusted code. With hardware-isolation, millisecond cold-starts, checkpoints, clones, and a URL per VM, all while paying only for the time spent running.

While this was a ton of fun to build, vm1 is shutting down as a startup. Thanks to all the customers (both of them!) who kicked the tires and sent feedback along the way. I'm looking forward to continuing to work on the virtualization tech and open sourcing it soon.
